Aussie Athletes Agency’s South Dakota freshman Sammy Whitting has been selected for Australia’s World Junior Championships team to compete on the Gold Coast in September.

Sammy has accumulated enough ITU (International Triathlon Union) points over the past several months through competitions in Australia and Europe to earn her spot. She placed 10th at the 2018 Oceania Triathlon Championships with a time of 1 hour, 11 minutes and 11 seconds in March. She was the fifth Australian across the finish line.

A native of Brisbane, Australia, Whitting graduated from All Hallows’ School in 2017. She was a member of the Queensland School Sport Triathlon team for five years and team captain in 2017.
